Nine
Folk Artists from Punjabi led by city based Lecturer Davinder
Singh Chhina participated in this world festival and represented
the Punjab State and the country, under the banner of Punjab
Cultural Promotion Council, The festival was organized by
Municipality of Ozdere to strengthen International friendship.
The
Punjab Trope members included choreographer Rajpal Singh Raju,
International Drummer Mr. Bansi Lal (Both Ludhiana) Mr.
Bikramjit Singh Biki, Prof Paramjit Kaur (Kapurthala), Ms. Meenu
Bangar (Jalandhar), Mr. Sukhjit Singh Bhachoo (Kapurthala), Folk
Singer Mr. Sohan Singh Soneela (Maharaja Ranjit Singh Academy,
Phillaur) and Ms Gagandeep Kaur Lehra also from Ludhiana
District.
PCPC
Troupe is all praise for the hospitality and response extended
by the Turkish Folk fans and International audience.
“Ozdere
is alive with great environment, sea, coast, sant, sun, forests,
pleasant whether and hospitable Turkish Community, making this
country a real paradise on this earth” commented Mr. Chhina
while talking to the media here today.
Punjabis
gave scintillating performances of Bhangra, Malvai Gidha and
other folk dances at Ozdere, Ulucak and other parts of Izmir-
Valley. Folk Groups from Romania- Petrobrazi, Turkish Folk
ensemble – Sumhotter and Folk ensembles from other countries
also delighted the crowd during week long festival.
Turkish
Audience was much attracted towards turbaned –folk artist of
Punjab and Turkish youth danced Bhangra rhythms, with PCPC
artists during International concert at open Air Theatre in
Genclik Park (Youth Park) on the Aegean sea. International folk
parade of International Artists in specially built Tractor
trolley floats was also organized on the mountains of Ozdere
Valley. Unlucak Municipality Mayor Mr. Mehmet Turkmen also
honored PCPC Artists.
During
‘Exchange of Souvenirs ceremony in the beautiful Sevgi Park, the
mayor of Ozdere Mr. Haldun Ertok and Festival Director, Mr.
Cinar Yildirim honored PCPC Director Mr. Davinder Singh Chhina
with festival plaque, Festival Diploma etc. Mayor Mr. Ertok
termed the performances of Punjabi artists par excellence and
appreciated their colourful Turbans. Mr. Chhina also presented
photos of The Golden Temple to the Mayor Mr. Ertok and Festival
Director Mr. Cinar Prof. Gurbuz Aktas from Izmir’s Ege
University promised to visit Punjab along with Mayor, Mr. Cinar
and Turkish folk Artists to explore Punjabi and participate in
Punjab International Festivals here.
